Now for a PSA: Memorial Day is a day of remembrance and honor, not one to celebrate happiness or vacationing. Saying ‘Happy Memorial Day’ could be deemed as disrespectful of the thousands that have given their lives for our freedoms (lately the few that we still have).
It’s Medal/Coin Monday!
Birthday race! Hot and humid. The gravel and stones on the trail ripped my poor feet to shreds. Puddles and mud awaited us. This race was well attended. In fact, it sold out. This was challenging and it shouldn’t have been since I’m familiar with the course (C&O Canal Towpath, Georgetown DC). Still working on regaining my stamina. I didn’t get the results that I wanted, but the heat and humidity didn’t give an ounce of help. I’ll just chalk this one up as a training run. For this race, we got a coin instead of a medal. That’s fine because my medal collection overfloweth! And now the marathon approaches quickly. Workout is done. Let the celebrating begin! Speaking of…
Next races: NYRR One For You, One For Youth 5k and marathon #1/4: the Montana Governor’s Cup.
